Notice to MediaEastbound Interstate 30 Overlay Project to Get UnderwayJune 11, 1997 -- Work will begin June 12 at 9:00 a.m. on an overlay project for eastbound sections of Interstate 30 in Little Rock, according to Dan Flowers, Director of the AHTD. The project is located between 65th Street and Geyer Springs Road. The contractor will begin the overlay process Thursday morning at approximately 9:00 a.m. and will continue work, weather permitting, until 6:00 a.m. Friday morning. Work may continue again at 9:00 a.m. Friday morning and continue throughout Friday and Saturday until 12:00 midnight on Saturday. No work will be performed on Sunday. The same schedule will be followed each day until the east bound lanes are completed in July. This work is part of a $2.45 million project to resurface portions of the Interstate in Little Rock and North Little Rock. The North Little Rock portion of the project has already been completed. Lasiter Asphalt Maintenance Co., Inc. of North Little Rock was the low bidder for the project. Motorists are cautioned that the speed limit will be reduced in work zones and some on and off ramps may be periodically closed. Some delays can be expected along the project route.
