Highway 67/167 Access Road Overlay Project to Get Underway

June 24, 1997 -- Work will begin June 26 at 9:00 a.m. on an overlay project for eastern Highway 67/167 access road (Landers Road) in North Little Rock and Sherwood, according to Dan Flowers, Director of the AHTD. The project is located between McCain Boulevard and the north terminus of the access road.

The contractor will begin the overlay process Thursday morning at approximately 9:00 a.m. and will continue work, weather permitting, throughout the day. The same schedule will be followed each day until the work on Landers Road is completed. Work will then transfer to the western access road (Warden Road). Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the immediate area of the project. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by July 25, 1997, weather permitting.

This work is part of a $710,000 project to resurface the access roads in North Little Rock and Sherwood. Salt Creek Paving and Construction Co., Inc. of North Little Rock was the low bidder for the project.

Motorists are cautioned that the speed limit will be reduced in work zones and some on and off ramps may be periodically closed. Some delays can be expected along the project route. Motorists may want to use alternate routes or allow extra time.
