Notice to MediaWestbound Interstate 30 Overlay Project to Get UnderwayAugust 7, 1997 -- Work will begin August 12 at 9:00 a.m. on an overlay project for westbound sections of Interstate 30 in Little Rock, according to Dan Flowers, Director of the AHTD. The project is located between 65th Street and Geyer Springs Road. The contractor will begin the overlay process Tuesday morning at approximately 9:00 a.m. and will continue work, weather permitting, until 3:00 p.m. Work may continue again at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening and continue throughout the night until 3:00 p.m. the following day. A single lane closure will be required on the westbound lanes while this project is underway. All three lanes of the Interstate will be open during the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. each day. Work may continue with periodic lane closures on Saturday throughout the day until 12:00 midnight. No work will be performed on Sunday. The same schedule will be followed each day until the westbound lanes are completed in October, weather permitting. This work is part of a $2.45 million project to resurface portions of the Interstate in Little Rock and North Little Rock. The North Little Rock portion of the project has already been completed. Lasiter Asphalt Maintenance Co., Inc. of North Little Rock was the low bidder for the project. Motorists are cautioned that the speed limit will be reduced in work zones and some on and off ramps may be periodically closed. Some delays can be expected along the project route.
