Broadway Connector Project to Cause Lane Closures in North Litttle Rock

August 7, 1997 -- Work to construct a new roadway in North Little Rock will cause periodic lane closures on Broadway, according to Dan Flowers, Director of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD).

The periodic lane closures will begin on Monday, August 11 at 8:30 a.m., weather permitting. Two lanes of Broadway will be closed daily between Vine and Hickory Streets. Traffic will be limited to single lanes of eastbound and westbound traffic each day until this portion of the project is complete on August 15, weather permitting. The lane closures will be in effect between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day.

This work is part of a $1.46 million project to construct a five-lane connector between Riverfront Drive and Broadway in downtown NLR. Mid-South Contractors, Inc. of Conway, Arkansas was the low bidder for the project.

Motorists are cautioned that the speed limit will be reduced in work zones. Some delays can be expected along the project route. Motorists may want to use alternate routes or allow extra time.
