AHTD to Hold Public Hearing on Widening of Highway 365

August 18, 1997 -- The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold an open forum public hearing from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 1997, at the Cedar Heights Baptist Church, 14502 Cedar Heights Road in Morgan, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The hearing offers citizens the opportunity to express their views regarding the proposed widening of State Highway 365 from the intersection of State Highway 100 in Morgan to Interstate 40 in Pulaski County.

Proposed improvements include constructing four 11-foot travel lanes with a 12-foot center turn lane and curb and gutter. Existing State Highway 365 consists of two paved 11-foot travel lanes with four-foot paved shoulders. The average right-of-way is 60 feet. Approximately four acres of additional right-of-way will be required for this 1.1-mile long project.

The open forum allows citizens the opportunity to attend anytime between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. Personnel will be on hand during those hours to explain the proposed design, answer questions, and take written or oral comments about the project.

Preliminary plans, information relative to environmental studies, proposed right of way acquisition, and other pertinent information relative to the proposed project, as well as written statements received from interested persons, agencies or groups, are available for public inspection and copying at the office of the District Engineer, AHTD, I-30 Exit 130, Little Rock, Arkansas.

Anyone wishing to submit written statements or other exhibits in place of, or in addition to, written statements made at the public hearing may submit them to the District Engineer, AHTD, P.O. Box 190296, Little Rock, Arkansas 72219-0296. Such submissions must be received no later than Friday, September 5, 1997.
