Notice to MediaConstruction to Cause Lane Closures on Highway 67/167 and I-40October 3, 1997 -- A project to improve the Springhill Drive interchange in North Little Rock will cause temporary lane closures on Sunday, October 5, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. One lane of southbound Highway 67/167 will have intermittent lane closures between 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. to allow construction of the approach lane to the flyover on I-40 eas southbound laneThe road closure is necessary to allow contractors a working area for the construction of the new Springhill Drive interchange. When completed, motorists will be able to exit from either the east or westbound lanes of I-40. The interchange modifications in the area also include an exit from the southbound lanes of Highway 67 connecting to I-40 eastbound. The new exit will be built to the west of the present location and will allow motorists to exit from the outside southbound lane of Highway 67. Although Springhill Drive will only be closed to through traffic for five months, the entire interchange project will not be complete until late 1998. Motorists should use the McCain Boulevard exits on U.S. Highway 67 as an alternate route during the time the area is closed. For Further Information Contact:
