Culvert Extension to Cause Lane Closures

on Highway 7 in Garland County

October 16, 1997 -- Crews from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be extending a box culvert on Highway 7 at Fox Pass Cutoff north Hot Springs beginning Monday, October 20, according to Dan Flowers, AHTD Director. The construction will necessitate closing one lane of the highway while work is taking place.

The culvert extension is needed after the City of Hot Springs realigned Fox Pass Cutoff. A left turn lane from Highway 7 will be added to improve safety at the intersection.

The project should continue for approximately three days with periodic lane closures. Work will continue from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting.
