AHTD to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Arkansas Scenic Byway

November 24, 1997 -- The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) and the Scenic 71 Partners Association will host a public hearing on Tuesday, December 2, beginning at 6:30 P.M., according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. The meeting will be held at the Mountainburg High School cafeteria in Mountainburg.

The public hearing is being held for the purpose of permitting all interested persons, agencies, and organizations the opportunity to express their views regarding the proposed designation of Highway 71, from its intersection with Highway 282 north of Alma to the Highway 71 Bypass in Fayetteville, as an Arkansas Scenic Byway.

Individuals interested in this proposal are encouraged to attend this meeting and to provide written or oral comments. All interested persons will be heard at the public hearing.
