Notice to MediaInterstate 30 Repaving to Cause Lane ClosureMay 7, 1998 -- A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be repaving a portion of I-30 south of Malvern beginning Monday, May 18, according to Dan Flowers, AHTD Director. The paving project will necessitate closing one lane of the westbound and eastbound lanes of I-30. The contractor will begin on the westbound lanes first and will close the outside lane. Once work in the westbound direction is complete, the contractor will switch to the outside lane in the eastbound direction. The project will resurface a 3.7-mile section of I-30 from the Social Hill Rest Area to Highway 171 south of Malvern. Mid-State Construction and Materials, Inc. of Malvern, Arkansas was awarded a $671,404.94 contract for the work. The project is expected to be complete in approximately four weeks.
