Lanes on Old Jacksonville Highway to be Closed

May 15, 1998 -- Construction of an overpass over Highway 161, known as the Old Jacksonville Highway, will cause intermittent closing of the highway on Monday, May 18 and Tuesday, May 19.

Steel beams will be hung across the highway on those days causing lane closures of up to 15 minutes at a time. The work will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day.

The overpass is part of the North Belt Freeway under construction between I-40 and Highway 67/167 in northern Pulaski County.
