I-40 Lane Closures Scheduled

May 29, 1998 -- Crews from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be making repairs to a section of I-40 near Mayflower on Wednesday, June 3, according to Dan Flowers, AHTD Director.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m., one lane of westbound I-40 near mile marker 138, just east of Mayflower, will be closed for crews to level the asphalt. Both lanes will be repaired during the day, but one lane will remain open at all times. The repairs will be complete and both lanes will be open to traffic by 4:00 p.m.

Motorists should plan accordingly for travel through the area on Wednesday. Extreme caution should be exercised when traveling through this or any construction work zone.
