Maintenance Work to Cause Intermittent Lane Closure

on I-440 Arkansas River Bridge

June 10, 1998 -- Crews from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will be sealing the deck on the I-440 Arkansas River Bridge beginning June 11, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The bridge maintenance is scheduled to begin Thursday, June 11 and continue each day for approximately one week, weather permitting.

To accommodate the equipment, intermittent lane closures of the northbound lanes will be required between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day. The lane will be open and normal traffic flow will resume at the end of each workday.

Motorists may want to use alternate routes or allow extra time during the repair period.
