Notice to MediaBridge Inspection and Maintenance to Cause Lane ClosuresLITTLE ROCK (8-27) -- Crews from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will be conducting routine inspections and maintenance of two Arkansas River bridges in Central Arkansas beginning next week, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. Crews will begin inspecting the I-30 Arkansas River Bridge on Sunday, August 30 beginning at 7:00 a.m. and continue through 3:00 p.m., weather permitting. To accommodate Department equipment, the bridge inspection will cause closure of the outside eastbound lane in the morning before continuing to the westbound outside lane later in the day. Beginning on Tuesday, September 1, crews will be conducting routine maintenance on the I-430 Arkansas River Bridge. Crews will continue work on that bridge through Wednesday, September 2, weather permitting. The inside two lanes of the northbound lanes will be closed between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day. All lanes will be open and normal traffic flow will resume at the end of each workday. Motorists should use alternate routes or allow extra time during the repair period. ####
