Highway Police Officers Seize Over 100 Pounds of Marijuana

LITTLE ROCK (12-3) – Officers from the Highway Police Division of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) uncovered approximately 100 pounds of marijuana concealed in a tractor-trailer rig Thursday, December 3, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The drugs were found during a routine inspection of a truck at the Lehi Weigh Station on I-40 in Crittenden County Thursday morning. The marijuana was found in cardboard boxes concealed in the sleeper section of the truck cab.

Two occupants of the truck were taken into custody at the scene. Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver were Robert K. Hildreth, 36, of Garfield Heights, Ohio, and Duntez L. Campbell, 34, of Cleveland, Ohio. Both are being held at the Crittenden County Detention Center. Hildreth, the driver of the truck, did not have a valid driver’s license in his possession nor a record of duty log.

"Once again, our drug interdiction training has paid off in a big way," Highway Police Chief Ron Burks noted. "We are very proud of the way our officers are detecting illegal and unsafe loads on our highways."
