Lanes to be Closed on I-30

LITTLE ROCK (7-9) – Motorists can expect more congestion than usual next week on I-30 between Malvern and Benton, according to Dan Flowers, Director of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.

A highway contractor will be installing plowable reflective pavement markers that will necessitate the closing of one traffic lane.

Beginning at approximately 7:00 a.m. Monday, July 12 the inside eastbound lane will be closed to allow installation of the pavement markers in the eastbound lanes. The work will continue throughout the day until approximately 8:00 p.m. Motorists can expect the inside lanes to be closed for approximately two-mile intervals between the Hot Spring/Saline County Line and the Highway 70/I-30 Interchange.

On Tuesday, July 13 the contractor will move to the westbound lanes. Work will begin at 7:00 a.m. and be complete by 8:00 p.m.

"We regret the inconvenience to the motorists, but reflective markers greatly increase lane visibility at night," Flowers said.
