Notice to MediaReplacement of Fourche Creek Bridge on University Avenue to Cause Lane ClosureLITTLE ROCK (7-21) -- Replacement of a bridge over Fourche Creek on University Avenue will require periodic lane closures of University Avenue beginning Sunday morning, July 25, according to Dan Flowers, Director of the AHTD. Beginning Sunday at 6:00 a.m., the contractor will be laying asphalt in preparation for the replacement of two functionally obsolete bridges over the creek. The construction will continue overnight into Monday morning when all lanes will open at 6:00 a.m. The contractor will return again Monday night at 8:00 p.m. and continue work through 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The same schedule will be repeated Tuesday and Wednesday nights, weather permitting Except for Sunday, most of the construction will take place after dark. Caution should be exercised when traveling through this or any highway construction work zone. Southern Pavers of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, is the contractor for the project.
