Highway Commission Selects Bond Counsel

LITTLE ROCK (7-29) – The Arkansas State Highway Commission has selected the Little Rock law firm of Friday, Eldredge and Clark to serve as bond counsel for the Commission’s upcoming highway bond issues, according to Commission Vice Chairman John Lipton of Warren.

After hearing presentations from five law firms who expressed interest in serving as bond counsel, the Commission voted unanimously to begin negotiations with the Friday firm.

"The Commission was pleased with the interest that was expressed, and we believe that any of the five firms could have served our needs adequately," Lipton noted. "But we were very impressed with the experience and expertise that the Friday firm brought to the table. The Commission decided to act today to put this issue behind us and move on to the next phase of getting these much-needed Interstate improvements underway."
