Notice to MediaLanes to be Closed on I-30LITTLE ROCK (8-13) A project to construct an overpass at Raymar Road on I-30 between Bryant and the Pulaski County line will cause temporary lane closures Sunday and Monday nights, according to Dan Flowers, Director of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD). The lane closures are necessary to allow a contractor to paint the steel beams under the new overpass. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15, the outside westbound lane on I-30 will be closed to allow the painting to take place. As work progresses across the beams, the outside lane will reopen and the inside lane will be closed. The painting above the westbound lanes will conclude by 6:00 a.m. Monday and all travel lanes will be open. The same process will take place above the I-30 eastbound lanes Monday, August 16, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Again, all travel lanes will be open by 6:00 a.m. Tuesday. The Raymar Road overpass should be complete and open to traffic in about two weeks. It is the first of five new overpasses to be constructed between Little Rock and Benton on I-30. The new overpasses will connect the frontage roads on each side of the Interstate and are part of the process to convert the frontage roads to one-way operation. Additional crossovers will be built at Chicot Road, Vimy Ridge Road, Springhill Road and Highway 5. #### For Further Information Contact:
