Sign Replacement to Cause Lane Closure on I-440

LITTLE ROCK (12-10) – A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be replacing an overhead sign structure on I-440 near the I-440/I-30/I-530 interchange, commonly referred to as the south terminal interchange, on Monday evening, December 13, 1999, according to Dan Flowers, AHTD Director.

The sign is located on I-440 between Confederate Boulevard and the south terminal interchange.  The inside (left) westbound lane of I-440 will be closed beginning at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening and continuing into Tuesday morning, weather permitting.  The lane will reopen by 6:00 a.m. Tuesday.

The new sign is part of the I-530 signing project in Pulaski, Jefferson, Saline and Grant Counties.  Contractor for the $1.3 million project is Collins and Hermann, Inc. of St. Louis, Missouri.
