LITTLE ROCK (12-13) – A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will be removing the temporary median barrier walls south of the I-430 Arkansas River Bridge beginning Wednesday, December 15, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

In order to minimize inconvenience to motorists, work will only be done in off-peak hours beginning Wednesday and continuing through Thursday, December 16.  Starting at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, the northbound inside lanes of I-430 between Rodney Parham and the Arkansas River Bridge will be closed to traffic. The work will continue throughout the day when lanes will be reopened by 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Beginning Thursday, the barrier wall along the southbound lanes will be removed forcing the closure of the inside lane between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Motorists may want to use alternate routes or allow extra time during the construction period.
