Repair Work and Inspection to Cause Additional Lane Closure on I-40 Mississippi River Bridge

LITTLE ROCK (4-11) -- Crews from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will be repairing a support on the I-40 Mississippi River Bridge in West Memphis for the next four weeks, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

To accommodate the equipment, the outside westbound lane on the bridge will be closed to traffic throughout the repair period.  A single eastbound lane has been closed since April 3 and will be closed until later this month.

Motorists may want to use alternate routes or allow extra time during the repair period.
