AHTD Places Road Construction Report on Internet

LITTLE ROCK (4-27) – The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has developed an interactive computer map that gives frequently updated construction-related road conditions on major routes in the state, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The map can be found on the Department’s Internet page at www.arkansashighways.com. The “Roads” link page gives the viewer the alternative to select the interactive map or the text only chart. First time users of the map should follow introductory instructions for a one-time download of free software in order to receive the map.

Department employees throughout the state are assigned to monitor road conditions during construction periods and continually update the Internet page data.

Other pages on the web site allow viewers the opportunity to see road-related weather conditions of major highways around the state. “The construction update map and the weather conditions on the state’s highways will give motorists more detailed information about traveling in Arkansas,” Flowers said.
