Notice to MediaConstruction to Cause Lane Closures on I-40 at MorganLITTLE ROCK (5-9) --Work
on the Highway 365 overpass on I-40 at Morgan will cause temporary lane closures
on I-40 this week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation
Department Director Dan Flowers. Workers will be
painting the overpass and removing safety platforms on Wednesday and Thursday
night, May 10 and 11 as well as Sunday evening, May 14, weather permitting. The
eastbound lanes of I-40 will be affected Wednesday night with intermittent
closures planned between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. None of the closures will last
longer than 15 minutes. On Thursday, May
11 crews will be working on the overpass above the westbound lanes of I-40
beginning at 8:00 p.m., causing temporary lane closures in that direction.
Again, none of the closures will last longer than 15 minutes and all lanes will
reopen by 6:00 a.m. Both eastbound
and westbound lanes of the Interstate will be intermittently closed beginning
Sunday evening at 10:00 p.m. The
intermittent Interstate closure will continue until 5:00 a.m. Monday morning and
each closure will last no longer than 15 minutes. All Morgan exit
and entrance ramps will remain open during this process.
Motorists may want to use alternate routes or allow addition time during
