Construction to Cause Lane Closures on I-40 at Morgan

LITTLE ROCK (5-9) --Work on the Highway 365 overpass on I-40 at Morgan will cause temporary lane closures on I-40 this week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department Director Dan Flowers.

Workers will be painting the overpass and removing safety platforms on Wednesday and Thursday night, May 10 and 11 as well as Sunday evening, May 14, weather permitting. The eastbound lanes of I-40 will be affected Wednesday night with intermittent closures planned between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. None of the closures will last longer than 15 minutes.

On Thursday, May 11 crews will be working on the overpass above the westbound lanes of I-40 beginning at 8:00 p.m., causing temporary lane closures in that direction. Again, none of the closures will last longer than 15 minutes and all lanes will reopen by 6:00 a.m.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of the Interstate will be intermittently closed beginning Sunday evening at 10:00 p.m.  The intermittent Interstate closure will continue until 5:00 a.m. Monday morning and each closure will last no longer than 15 minutes.

All Morgan exit and entrance ramps will remain open during this process.  Motorists may want to use alternate routes or allow addition time during the construction period.
