More Study Planned for Proposed Warren Bypass

LITTLE ROCK (6-29) – Based on studies conducted to date and comments taken at recent public meetings, the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) is seeking federal approval of Alternative 3 as the preferred alignment for the Warren Northeast Bypass, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The preferred alignment begins at the junction of U.S. Highways 63/63B and Wiggins Road, and proceeds east for a short distance before turning southeast and crossing North Bradley Road and continuing south down County Road 300 connecting with U.S. Highway 278.

As part of the federal approval process, Department personnel will be conducting archaeological surveys along the preferred alignment.  The Department will contact property owners requesting permission to enter their property to conduct the archaeological survey, according to Flowers.
