Notice to MediaAHTD to Hold Public Hearing on U.S. Highway 63 Upgrade
LITTLE
ROCK (9-22) - The
Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold an open
forum public hearing from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28 at the
Delta Technical Institute, 33500 Highway 63 East in Marked Tree, according to
AHTD Director Dan Flowers. The hearing offers citizens the opportunity to
express their views on the proposed upgrade of Highway 63 to Interstate
standards.
The proposed project generally consists of converting the highway to a fully
controlled access facility with interchanges.
Frontage roads will be constructed where needed to maintain access and
where economically feasible. Total
length of the project area is 14.6 miles and is located between Marked Tree and
Interstate 55.
The open forum hearing allows citizens the opportunity to attend anytime between
4:00 and 7:00 p.m. Personnel will be on hand during those hours to answer
questions and take written or oral comments about the project.
