Bridge repair to cause lane closures on Saline River Bridge near Leola

LITTLE ROCK (10-5) -- Crews from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will be repairing the Arkansas Highway 46 Saline River Bridge near Leola beginning next week, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The bridge deck is scheduled to be repaired beginning Monday, October 9 and continuing each weekday for about six weeks, weather permitting. To accommodate the equipment, one lane of traffic will be closed between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.  Both lanes will be open and normal traffic flow will resume at the end of each workday and on weekends.

No over-width vehicles will be allowed across the bridge during the lane closure periods.  Motorists may want to use alternate routes or allow extra travel time during the repair period.
