AHTD To Hold Meeting On Highway 62 Improvements

LITTLE ROCK (5-18)The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will conduct a public involvement session to discuss the widening of U.S. Highway 62, both east and west of Highway 178, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The informal session will be held Tuesday, June 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Flippin Municipal Building, located at 217 East Main Street, in Flippin.

The proposed project will widen sections of the highway to four lanes with an 11-foot painted median.  This project is necessary to accommodate increasing traffic volumes in the Flippin area near Highway 178.  The proposed work will decrease congestion and improve traffic flow on Highway 62 through the community.

The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view exhibits and offer comments.  Department personnel will be on hand to discuss the project and answer questions.
