Notice to MediaHighway Work To Take Place on I-40 RampsLITTLE ROCK (5-30) – A contractor for the
Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be installing
concrete barriers on sections of Interstate 40 interchange ramps near Prothro
Junction in North Little Rock on Thursday, May 31, Friday, June 1, and Monday,
June 4, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.
The barriers are needed
for traffic control and to enhance safety for motorists while temporary detours
are constructed adjacent to the main lanes.
This work is part of the reconstruction of Interstate 40 from Highway
67/167 to Lonoke County line. As
part of the work, it will be necessary to temporarily close ramps at the
following times and locations: From
11:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, until 5:00 a.m. Friday, June 1 (Ramp
from U.S. Highway 67/167 southbound to I-40 eastbound) From
11:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, until 5:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2 From
11:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, until 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5 The
closure times have been established to minimize inconvenience to motorists. Motorists may use an alternate route to access I-40 east from
Highway 67/167 and McCain Boulevard by taking McCain Boulevard east to
Springhill Drive, then south to I-40. Springhill
Drive can be accessed from McCain Boulevard east of Highway 67/167. As
always, motorists are urged to “Think Ahead”, “Buckle-up”, and exercise
caution when approaching and traveling through work zones. ####
