Work Scheduled for Bridge on Interstate 440

LITTLE ROCK (6-1) – The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be performing routine maintenance on the Interstate 440 Bridge in Little Rock Monday through Thursday, June 4 - 7, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The work is necessary to repair expansion joints on the bridge.  On Monday and Tuesday, the work will require closure of the westbound inside lane of Interstate 440 at the bridge.  On Wednesday and Thursday, the center and inside westbound lanes at the bridge will be closed as part of the repair work.  Crews will be performing maintenance on the bridge during off peak hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day, to minimize inconvenience to motorists.  Only a short distance of roadway will actually be closed while the repair work takes place.

Motorists may want to use an alternate route or allow extra travel time during the closures.  As always, motorists are urged to “Think Ahead”, “Buckle-up”, and exercise caution when approaching and traveling through work zones.
