Notice to MediaRepair Work Scheduled for Bridge on Interstate 440
LITTLE ROCK (6-8) – The
Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be performing
routine maintenance on the Interstate 440 Bridge in Little Rock Monday through
Thursday, June 11 - 14, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.
The work is necessary to complete repair of expansion joints on the bridge. Crews will be performing maintenance on the bridge during off
peak hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day, to minimize inconvenience to
motorists. Only a short distance of
roadway will actually be closed while the repair work takes place. The
work will require temporary lane closures on the following dates and times: Monday,
June 11 9:00
a.m. – 3:00 p.m. - The westbound inside lane of the Interstate 440 Arkansas
River Bridge. Tuesday,
June 12 and Wednesday, June 13 9:00
a.m. – 3:00 p.m. - The center and inside westbound lanes of the Interstate 440
Arkansas River Bridge. Thursday,
June 14 9:00
a.m. – 3:00 p.m. - The inside westbound lane of will be closed as part of the
repair work. Motorists
may want to use an alternate route or allow extra travel time during the
closures. As always, motorists are
urged to “Think Ahead”, “Buckle-up”, and exercise caution when
approaching and traveling through work zones. ####
