Department to Broadcast July Bid Letting Via Internet

LITTLE ROCK (7-6) – The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will offer the July 11 bid letting for broadcast via the worldwide web, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. Sealed bids for 57 jobs worth an estimated $97.4 million will be opened in two sessions –  10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Both sessions will be broadcast. 

“We live in an era where real time lettings have become an important feature for the public during the bid process,” said Flowers. “Providing instant access is just one way of efficiently improving the process.” 

The webcast will be carried on the AHTD’s website, www.arkansashighways.com. Click on the CONTRACTS link and go to LIVE BROADCAST OF CONTRACT LETTING. Visitors will need a PC with multimedia capabilities and Windows Media Player to access the webcast.
