AHTD To Hold Public Hearing On Proposed Highway 63 Bypass in Hardy

LITTLE ROCK (7-11) -- The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold an open forum public hearing from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2001, at the Old Gym, 203 School Street in Hardy, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The hearing offers citizens the opportunity to express their views on the proposed Highway 63 Bypass in Hardy.  The project generally consists of building a 1.5-mile bypass beginning at U.S. Highway 63 in northwest Hardy and intersecting U.S. Highway 63 east of Hardy. 

        The open forum hearing allows citizens the opportunity to attend anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Representatives from AHTD will be on hand during those hours to answer questions and take written or oral comments about the project.

Preliminary plans, information relative to environmental studies, proposed right of way acquisition and other pertinent information relative to the proposed project, as well as written statements received from interested persons, agencies or groups, are available for public inspection and copying at the office of the AHTD District Engineer, 1673 Batesville Boulevard in Batesville.  Plans can also be reviewed at the Hardy City Hall, 124 Woodland Hills Road in Hardy during normal business hours.

Anyone wishing to submit written statements or other exhibits in place of, or in addition to, written statements made at the public hearing may submit them to the District Engineer, AHTD, P.O. Box 2376, Batesville, Arkansas 72503-2376 or email to .  Such submissions must be received no later than Monday, July 30, 2001.
