Notice to MediaHighway Work on I-30 Crossover Near County Line To Close Lanes for Platform InstallationLITTLE ROCK (7-20) – A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and
Transportation Department (AHTD) will be installing safety platforms on the Vimy
Ridge Crossover of Interstate 30 near the Pulaski/Saline County line on Monday
July, 23 and Tuesday July 24, 2001, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. The
Vimy Ridge Crossover is part of the $150 million rehabilitation and widening
work scheduled for Interstate 30 between Little Rock and Benton.
As part of the installation of the safety platforms, it will be necessary
to temporarily close portions of the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate
30, weather permitting. The
work will require temporary lane closures on the following dates and times: Monday, July 23,
2001
7:00
p.m. – 5:00 a.m. – The east and westbound outside lanes will be closed in
conjunction with the crossover work during this entire time period. Tuesday, July 24,
2001
7:00
p.m. – 5:00 a.m. The east and westbound inside lanes of Interstate 30 will be
closed in conjunction with the crossover work during this entire time period. Even
though all work is being performed during off-peak hours to minimize
inconvenience, motorists may want to use an alternate route or allow extra
travel time during the closures. As
always, motorists are urged to “Think Ahead”, “Buckle-up” and exercise
caution when approaching and traveling through work zones. ####
