Highway Officers Make Drug Arrest Near Mayflower
LITTLE
ROCK (8-17) – A
contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD)
will be installing concrete barrier walls near the 65th Street exit
beginning Monday, August 20, weather permitting, according to AHTD Director Dan
Flowers.
This
work is part of the Interstate Rehabilitation Program, which will improve 60% of
the state’s 655-mile Interstate system. This
particular project is being done in conjunction with the reconstruction of
approximately two miles of Interstate 30 from the Arch Street Bridge to 65th
Street.
The
work will require temporary lane closures on the following dates and times,
weather permitting:
Monday, August 20
- Beginning at 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, it will be necessary to
close the westbound outside lane for an extended period to install a
concrete barrier wall in conjunction with reconstruction of a section of
Interstate 30.
Monday,
August 20 through Thursday, August 23
- In addition to the westbound outside lane closure, the westbound
middle lane of I-30 will be closed from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily for
installation of a concrete barrier wall as part of the reconstruction of
I-30.
Wednesday,
August 22
- The westbound off-ramp at 65th Street will be closed for
an extended period as part of the work to install a concrete barrier wall in
conjunction with the reconstruction work on I-30.
Westbound traffic wanting to use 65th Street should take
the Scott Hamilton Road exit as an alternate route to access 65th
Street.
- The eastbound inside and middle lanes will be closed from 9:00 p.m.
until 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning to complete striping of the roadway for
lane shifts in conjunction with the installation of the concrete barrier
wall.
As
always, motorists are urged to “Think Ahead”, “Buckle-up” and exercise
caution when approaching and traveling through work zones.
