Notice to MediaHighway Work Scheduled on Highway 67/167 LITTLE ROCK (10-26) -
A contractor for the
Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be working on a
new overpass on Highway 67/167 just south of Jacksonville next week.
The work will take place at night on Monday, October 29, Wednesday,
October 31 and Thursday, November 1, 2001, weather permitting, according to AHTD
Director Dan Flowers. This
project involves the construction of the Northbelt Freeway Interchange with
Highway 67/167. The construction
will consist of hanging steel girders across Highway 67/167 as part of
constructing an overpass, and it will be necessary to temporarily close lanes on
Highway 67/167. The work is being
done during off-peak hours to minimize inconvenience to motorists. Temporary lane closures will be required on the
following dates and times: Monday, October 29 ·
Beginning
at 10:00 p.m. Monday, October 29 and continuing until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning,
both northbound lanes of Highway 67/167 will be closed in 15-minute intervals to
hang girders across the highway. In
addition, the left southbound lane will be closed continuously from 10:00 p.m.
Monday until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning as part of the project.
Wednesday, October 31 ·
Beginning
at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31 and continuing until 6:00 a.m. Thursday
morning, both southbound lanes of Highway 67/167 will be closed in 15-minute
intervals. Also, the left
northbound lane will be closed continuously from 10:00 p.m. Wednesday until 6:00
a.m. Thursday morning in conjunction with the hanging of girders. Thursday, November 1 ·
Beginning
at 10:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1 and continuing until 6:00 a.m. Friday
morning, both southbound lanes of Highway 67/167 will be closed in 15-minute
intervals. Also, the left
northbound lane will be closed continuously from 10:00 p.m. Thursday until 6:00
a.m. Friday morning. Motorists
may want to use an alternate route or allow extra travel time during the
closure. As always, motorists are
urged to “Think Ahead”, “Buckle-up” and exercise caution when
approaching and traveling through work zones. ####
