AHTD to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Widening of Highway 63B in Jonesboro

            LITTLE ROCK (11-26) - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold an open forum public hearing from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2001, at the Huntington Building, 900 Monroe Street in Jonesboro, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The hearing offers citizens the opportunity to express their views on the proposed widening of Highway 63B in Jonesboro.  The project generally consists of widening 2.7 miles of U.S. Highway 63B from Culberhouse Road to U.S. Highway 49 in Jonesboro. 

The open forum hearing allows citizens the opportunity to attend anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Representatives from AHTD will be on hand during those hours to answer questions and take written or oral comments about the project.

Preliminary plans, information relative to environmental studies, proposed right of way acquisition and other pertinent information relative to the proposed project, as well as written statements received from interested persons, agencies or groups, are available for public inspection and copying at the office of the AHTD District Engineer, 2510 West Kingshighway in Paragould.  Plans can also be reviewed at Resident Engineer Office #06, Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, 3202B Commerce, in Jonesboro during normal business hours.

Anyone wishing to submit written statements or other exhibits in place of, or in addition to, written statements made at the public hearing may submit them to the District Engineer, AHTD, P.O. Box 98, Paragould, Arkansas 72451-0098 or email to info@arkansashighways.com  Such submissions must be received no later than Friday, December 14, 2001.
