Notice to MediaHighway Work Scheduled on Highway 67/167
LITTLE ROCK (12-14) - A
contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD)
will be working on a new overpass on Highway 67/167 just south of Jacksonville
next week. Weather permitting, the
work will take place at night on Tuesday, December 18 and finish at noon
Wednesday, December 19, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. This
project is part of the Northbelt Freeway Interchange construction with Highway
67/167. Work will consist of
installing safety platforms and it will be necessary to temporarily close lanes
on Highway 67/167. The work is
being done during off-peak hours to minimize inconvenience to motorists.
Any work postponed due to inclement weather will be rescheduled as
conditions improve. Temporary
lane closures will be required at the following times: Tuesday,
December 18 Northbound
outside lane closed beginning at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and continuing until 12:00
noon Wednesday. The southbound
outside lane will be closed beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18 and
continuing until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19. Motorists
may want to use an alternate route or allow extra travel time during the
closure. As always, motorists are
urged to “Think Ahead”, “Buckle-up” and exercise caution when
approaching and traveling through work zones.
