Responsibilities include preparing environmental impact statements and other appropriate environmental documents for highway and other transportation projects. Such processing results in public involvement sessions during assessments of air, noise and water pollution. Control of outdoor advertising and junkyards, the Logo Sign Program and input into the decisions process applicable to highway location and design alternatives are other responsibilities.
