This Division maintains the computer database for all
projects programmed by the Commission. Construction plans are reviewed,
projects are advertised for bid, and contract documents for construction
projects are prepared. Pre-Construction project development is monitored
from initiation through contract execution. Collection and recording of
accurate, accessible, and reliable data to support traffic safety is
emphasized. Areas of responsibility include railroad safety, driver and
occupant safety, state alcohol education and identification and study of
high accident rate locations. Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE)
goals on individual construction contracts are also
established.
